Brush Lettering

Das Brush Lettering ist die Kunst der modernen Kalligrafie mit dem Pinsel. Es bietet eine wundervolle Möglichkeit, Lieblingszitate schön zu gestalten, handgemachte Grußkarten zu kreieren, ein Notizbuch mit schönen Überschriften zu füllen und vieles mehr!

Alle Kursmaterialien sowie eine Verpflegung mit Getränken und Snacks sind im Preis inbegriffen.

Vor dem Start des Kurses können Sie im MONTBLANC HAUS während der Öffnungszeiten gerne verweilen und mit Ihrem Ticket ebenfalls die Ausstellung besichtigen – eine Stärkung finden Sie in unserem Bistro 149 im Erdgeschoss. 

Martina Johanna Janssen begeistert sich seit dem Kindesalter für das Malen, Zeichnen und das kreative Arbeiten. 2014 stieß sie dann während eines Auslandssemesters in Amsterdam auf das Handlettering. Fasziniert von der Kunst der schönen Buchstaben machte sie schnell eigene Versuche. Die Begeisterung für die Buchstabenkunst ließ sie nicht mehr los, und so ist das Handlettering ihre große Leidenschaft geworden. Ihre Begeisterung und ihr Wissen teilt sie seit 2018 in ihren Lettering-Workshops.

Discover the permanent exhibition INSPIRE WRITING and the temporary exhibition INSPIRE WRITING | FILMMAKING with just one ticket. The audio guide is available in German and English - easily accessible on your private smartphone. You can also borrow an audio device and headphones at the reception for a deposit.

The MONTBLANC HAUS exhibition is accessible from Tuesday till Friday 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. and opens on Saturdays from 11 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. It is barrier-free on all levels (last entry at 5:00 p.m.).

In addition, we offer extended opening hours on the first Thursday of every month (except public holidays) until 9 pm. Evening tickets are valid from 18:00.

Food and drink (except baby food and bottled water) may not be taken into the exhibition halls.

A handbag with essential personal items may be carried per person if it does not exceed A4 format and is worn in front of the body to avoid damage to our exhibits.

After you have entered the exhibition within your selected time slot, you can stay within the MONTBLANC HAUS premises as long as you like - on the ground floor next to the Dome you will find the Bistro 149, where you can enjoy our range of snacks, sandwiches and hot and cold drinks.

We offer public tours through the MONTBLANC HAUS & Manufacturing Facility on selected days monthly starting at 9:30 a.m. - come join us!

LATE NIGHT THURSDAY AT MONTBLANC HAUS

Every first Thursday of the month is Long Thursday at MONTBLANC HAUS, meaning: We are open extended hours until 9 p.m. From 6-9 p.m., admission to the INSPIRE WRITING exhibition is free, and there is a varied program that creates new inspiration every month. The MONTBLANC HAUS Boutique and the attached Bistro 149 by Kitchen Guerilla are also open until 9 p.m.

At the MONTBLANC HAUS TALK "STORYBOARDS" on September 4th, starting at 6:30 p.m., Kristina Jaspers (German Film Archive Berlin) and Axel Eichhorst (Storyboard and Concept Artist) will use international examples and live drawings to show how storyboards shape the filmmaking process long before filming begins. The talk is part of the temporary exhibition INSPIRE WRITING | FILMMAKING. The program takes place as part of Long Thursday and is free. Seating is available but limited.

Erfahren Sie in diesem zweieinhalbstündigen Kurs mehr über die Grundlagen einer ästhetischen Handschrift und entfachen Sie die Freude an Ihren eigenen Schriftstücken neu. Neben dem Üben ganz klassischer Schreibschriften, erstellen wir ein ganz individuelles Alphabet, das auf Ihre Schreibgewohnheiten und Bedürfnisse abgestimmt ist.

Die Kalligrafiekünstlerin und Autorin Jeannette Mokosch lebt in der Lüneburger Heide und hat ihre Leidenschaft 2016 zum Beruf gemacht. Neben Kursen, Online-Workshops und Designaufträgen liebt sie mutmachende Worte, die sich auch in ihren Produkten widerspiegeln.

The Writing Atelier is the creative heart of MONTBLANC HAUS. It offers calligraphy or handlettering classes to turn your handwriting into an art form and creativity coaching to find new ideas effectively. The classes of the writing atelier can be booked for individuals, as exclusive group courses, or as a special gift.

Italic Handwriting with Paul Antonio / PAScribe

In this 5hour class you will be introduced to an upright Italic Handwriting style.

We will cover the basic strokes and how they come together to make up the letters. The first set of letters are sharp and angular and allow us to very swiftly move to the more rounded strokes which make up this beautiful running hand. The focus of this class will be the minuscules, or lowercase. Majuscules / uppercase letters will be demonstrated, as well as how to take this simplified script into its formal hands. You will be provided with a handout which includes the whole alphabet.

Paul Antonio approaches calligraphy as a geometric and breathwork practice. He is the author of 'Copperplate Script - A Yin& Yang Approach' and is the inventor of the 'PAScribe Lining Template' which simplifies ruling up sheets of paper.

This course is suitable for beginners as well as advanced writing enthusiasts.

Pointed Pen Calligraphy

Learn more about the technique of modern calligraphy in this two-and-a-half-hour course and put your words on paper with the pointed nib together with calligraphy artist Jeannette Mokosch.

All course materials, snacks and drinks  are included.

Calligraphy artist and author Jeannette Mokosch lives near Hamburg and  turned her passion for writing into a career in 2016. In addition to courses, online workshops and design commissions, she loves encouraging words, which are reflected in her entire work.
